Yo-Yos and Bobby Pins

I opened the windows, sat down in front of the telly and started a new project with some of my favorite vintage fabric. The reason: I found a very cute tutorial to make yo-yos from HELLOmynameisHeather.com found here.

 After I had a bunch of little yo-yos made I decided to attach a few to bobby pins for a cute hair accessory.

New Finds

Yesterday was fantastic. I found all sorts of good things that I am in the process of putting up on Etsy. 

This poodle reminds me of my mother. 

I found a huge collection of vintage eyeglass cases and a few pairs of glasses from the 1940's or so. The eyeglass holders are so cool but impractical to use because they are too small to hold modern glasses. However, they would make a cute change holder or button holder or gift box.

I also found a collection of old glass lenses. They are just asking to be made into some kind of light catcher.

Favorite Things

I snapped a few pictures of my favorite projects to date.

This is a little baby vest that I have just made with recycled yarn from an old sweater and the buttons are covered with vintage fabric. The teal tulips on the fabric are so sweet.

This pillowcase is hand embroidered with thin yarn. I love all of the colors!

I have a small obsession with granny squares- this project isn't quite complete.

Last summer I fixed up this old dresser. 

2010 bike trip. We stopped at a flea market and that strange square behind my bike is a TV tray that I strapped to the back for 158 miles.
